Marquis Who’s Who honors Chet Seto for his distinguished leadership in defense, environmental consulting and business innovation. As the founder and managing director of CJSeto Support Services LLC, Mr. Seto has combined technical expertise and a deep commitment to service throughout his multifaceted career.

About Chet Seto

Mr. Seto is an accomplished business leader, retired Navy captain and entrepreneur whose career spans more than four decades across the military, government and private sectors. He immigrated to the United States from Asia in 1963, grew up in Phoenix, Arizona, and graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1978 with a Bachelor of Science in oceanography. After completing flight training in Pensacola, Florida, and Corpus Christi, Texas, he became a Navy P-3 pilot, serving on active duty for seven years before joining the Navy Reserves. Over the next 23 years, he held numerous leadership positions and retired in 2008 with the rank of captain, marking the culmination of 30 years of combined service.

During his time in the reserves, Mr. Seto began building a second career that would blend his technical background with his passion for leadership. He founded CJSeto Support Services in 1999, a disabled veteran-owned small business specializing in professional support services for the federal government. The company provides environmental, health and safety consulting, logistics, engineering and information technology services. Under Mr. Seto’s direction, the business has grown steadily over 26 years and remains a trusted partner for government clients.

Mr. Seto attributes his success to his disciplined leadership style and his commitment to maintaining strong relationships within his organization. He believes in running the company like a family business, ensuring open communication and accessibility to all employees. By promoting from within and providing stability even during contract transitions, he has cultivated loyalty and trust among his team. He takes pride in keeping his employees supported, knowing that each one represents the company’s greatest asset.

While his company remains a cornerstone of his career, Mr. Seto continues to look ahead to new opportunities. He recently began developing a business venture focused on advanced electrical motor technology. His goal is to expand this innovation to a global market, pursuing applications across industries such as hospitality and aviation. The project aims to transform energy efficiency and sustainability, positioning his company at the forefront of next-generation commercial technology.

Over the years, Mr. Seto has earned recognition for his professional and athletic achievements. During his time at the Naval Academy, he became an All-American collegiate squash player, earning a ranking among the top 10 players in North America. His leadership has extended beyond his business endeavors as chairman of Friends of Navy Squash and past president of the Santa Barbara Chapter of the U.S. Naval Academy Alumni Association. Under his guidance, alumni participation and fundraising for the squash program have reached record levels. He also serves on several nonprofit boards, including one dedicated to advancing environmental careers.

A Commitment to Family, Innovation, and Service

Outside his professional life, Mr. Seto enjoys playing squash and mentoring young athletes and professionals. He remains deeply family-oriented and values his close relationships with colleagues and employees. He credits much of his success to his upbringing as an Asian American, which instilled in him humility, perseverance, and a strong sense of responsibility toward others.

Looking ahead, Mr. Seto seeks to continue to balance innovation and service, driven by the same determination that guided his naval and entrepreneurial careers. His lasting legacy lies not only in the success of his ventures but in the opportunities and inspiration he has created for those who follow in his footsteps.
