He immigrated to the United States from Asia in 1963, grew up in Phoenix, Arizona, and graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1978 with a Bachelor of Science in oceanography. After completing flight training in Pensacola, Florida, and Corpus Christi, Texas, he became a Navy P-3 pilot, serving on active duty for seven years before joining the Navy Reserves. Over the next 23 years, he held numerous leadership positions and retired in 2008 with the rank of captain, marking the culmination of 30 years of combined service.
During his time in the reserves, Mr. Seto began building a second career that would blend his technical background with his passion for leadership. He founded CJSeto Support Services in 1999, a disabled veteran-owned small business specializing in professional support services for the federal government. The company provides environmental, health and safety consulting, logistics, engineering and information technology services. Under Mr. Seto’s direction, the business has grown steadily over 26 years and remains a trusted partner for government clients.
Mr. Seto attributes his success to his disciplined leadership style and his commitment to maintaining strong relationships within his organization. Under his guidance, alumni participation and fundraising for the squash program have reached record levels. He also serves on several nonprofit boards, including one dedicated to advancing environmental careers.
