Bennisson Industries Announces AI-Supported Trust Infrastructure Initiative for Luxury-Watch Market

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., September 17th, 2026, FinanceWire

Bennisson Industries LLC, a luxury-asset authentication and services company headquartered in West Palm Beach, is developing a trust infrastructure for the secondary luxury-watch market that combines experienced watchmakers, proprietary artificial intelligence, and millions of internally collected reference datapoints. The company said the system is designed to support authentication, condition analysis, valuation, grading, secure custody and transparent transfer, so that high-value transactions between collectors, dealers, insurers and marketplaces become safer, more transparent and faster. As of September 9, 2026, Bennisson launched its AI-integrated authentication service, which uses millions of internally collected reference datapoints, making it the largest pre-owned market aggregator and utilizer of verified authentic datasets for luxury timepieces.

While many participants in the luxury resale market face pressure to reduce costs, accelerate transactions and compete primarily on price, Bennisson said it is taking a different path, built around its stated mission to enable the trusted exchange of luxury assets.

“Luxury assets should not move through the market on assumptions or a verbal Mazal,” said Cal Knight, CEO and co-founder of Bennisson Industries. “They should move with verified identity, documented condition, protected provenance, and a clear chain of custody. When others are tempted to cut corners, Bennisson holds the line. Because every compromised transaction weakens confidence in the marketplace.”

How the Trust Infrastructure Works

A seamless transaction requires more than matching a buyer with a seller, the company said. It requires confidence that the asset is authentic, accurately represented, responsibly handled and supported by reliable information. When any link in that chain fails, the consequences can extend beyond one transaction, affecting the asset’s value, its provenance and confidence across the broader market.

Bennisson brings together experienced watchmakers and authentication professionals with proprietary AI-supported analysis trained against millions of internally collected control reference datapoints. Its specialists examine the details machines cannot contextualize alone, while technology helps identify patterns, inconsistencies and risk signals that may be difficult to detect through conventional inspection.

“This is not artificial intelligence replacing human expertise. It’s technology amplifying it,” said Clint Zimmer, CTO and co-founder of Bennisson Industries.

The company describes the result as a multidimensional trust layer through which collectors, dealers, platforms, insurers and institutional participants can transact with greater confidence.

The Approach Applied to a Vintage Timepiece

Bennisson’s approach was recently applied when the original owner of a 1970s yellow gold vintage luxury sports watch brought the piece to the company’s West Palm Beach shop. The collector had received offers of approximately $60,000 from dealers and wholesalers. Without a complete understanding of the watch’s lineage, rarity, condition and market positioning, he was at risk of accepting an offer that did not reflect its potential value.

Rather than rushing the transaction, Bennisson’s team consulted with the owner on the significance and provenance of the watch. Because the watch had reportedly never been opened, its service required particular care, and the company’s specialists identified a deteriorated gasket and the need for professional cleaning and service. Bennisson authenticated the timepiece at no cost to the collector, combining its AI-supported authentication system, reference data and direct examination by experienced watchmaking professionals.

After authentication and service, Bennisson worked with Fred Savage, founder of Timepiece Grading Specialists, who was introduced to the company by Sophy Rindler, Director of Partnerships and Industry Relations at Chrono24. Savage prepared a detailed independent grading report documenting the watch’s condition, originality and significance, giving prospective buyers a clearer understanding of the piece. Through this process, Bennisson helped secure an outcome equal to approximately 150% of the value of the offers the collector had originally received. The difference came from uncovering, documenting and responsibly presenting value that was already there, the company said.

Protecting Collectors and the Marketplace

When an owner lacks access to expert guidance, a historically important asset may be undervalued, mishandled, improperly restored or sold without the documentation needed to preserve its long-term significance. By working alongside specialized firms such as Timepiece Grading Specialists and connecting authentication, service, provenance, grading and market representation rather than treating them as disconnected services, Bennisson said it is helping create a more disciplined standard for the market.

“Protecting a collector means more than determining whether a watch is real,” Knight said. “It means protecting the story, condition, provenance, and economic value attached to that watch. When those elements are properly documented, the owner is better protected, the buyer is better informed, and the entire marketplace becomes stronger.”

Responding to More Sophisticated Risk

The distinction between authentic and counterfeit is becoming more difficult to identify as manufacturing technology advances and counterfeit components become increasingly sophisticated. Fragmented records, inconsistent condition reporting, undisclosed modifications and rushed transactions also continue to introduce risk into the secondary market.

Bennisson believes the industry’s response must be equally sophisticated: preserving the judgment of trained watchmakers while building systems capable of learning from data at scale, and treating provenance as an asset rather than an afterthought. Technology creates scale, the company said; human expertise creates judgment; provenance creates enduring value.
