Three-module, in-person training explores connections between early movement, nervous system organization, learning and behavior
Baby Bare Professional Training returns to Minnesota in 2027, marking the first in-person cohort in the state since 2019. The program brings together professionals from multiple disciplines to study early movement, primitive reflexes and nervous system organization, and how these foundations may show up later in life.
Created by Stephanie Johnson, MA LPC, the three-module training is designed for educators, occupational and physical therapists, mental health providers, somatic and dance/movement practitioners, infant care providers, doulas, early childhood specialists, chiropractors and other professionals who work with children, teens and adults.
The training looks at how early infant movement and nervous system organization connect to patterns professionals may see later on, including attention, reading readiness, emotional regulation, posture, coordination, sensory processing and behavior.
“I created Baby Bare Professional Training because early in my practice, I heard the same sentence from parent after parent: ‘I wish someone had told me this when my child was younger,’” explains Johnson. “They were talking about the importance of early movement, nervous system organization, and how much those early foundations can shape learning, regulation, posture, attention, and emotional life.”
Baby Bare Professional Training is an active course in which participants move, reflect, discuss and practice together, experiencing the material in their own bodies while learning alongside professionals from other fields. The mix of disciplines gives participants an opportunity to examine developmental patterns through different professional perspectives.
“My hope is that fewer parents will be left feeling like no one told them what would have helped earlier,” says Johnson.
The Minnesota 2027 Cohort Dates Are:
Module One: January 29–31
Module Two: April 2–4
Module Three: October 8–10
