New AI agent, available from today, runs the research behind every escalated alert so investigators can focus on judgement, not data collection
aiNTEL, the AI-powered risk and decision intelligence platform, today launched Agentic Investigator, an AI agent that autonomously investigates people, companies and networks for financial crime teams at large banks and financial institutions. Available now, it takes a subject or an escalated alert, plans and runs the investigation itself, and returns a single unified profile, a mapped network and a case-ready narrative for the investigator to review.
Built into aiNTEL’s InGrav platform, it works across more than 1.2 billion indexed profiles and over 25 years of enriched data, together with open-source, social media, news, court and dark web sources in more than 40 languages. It can also work across an institution’s own customer and case data, inside the institution’s own infrastructure.
Alert volumes at large institutions keep rising, yet each escalation still depends on an analyst searching one source after another, translating documents, resolving aliases and piecing together ownership structures by hand. The work is slow and hard to scale without adding headcount.
Unlike a search tool that only answers the question it is asked, Agentic Investigator decides the next question itself. It resolves aliases and transliterated names, including Arabic, Farsi and Russian, into one subject. It traces beneficial owners, linked companies, associates and indirect counterparties, and presents them as interactive relationship graphs. Sanctions, PEP and adverse media findings arrive with their source evidence attached, and every step the agent takes is logged, so investigators and regulators can see exactly how each conclusion was reached.
Andre ter Weele, Chief Operating Officer of aiNTEL, said: “Investigators at large banks are some of the most skilled people in financial services, and too much of their day goes on collecting information instead of assessing it. Agentic Investigator does the legwork. It follows every lead, across every language and source, and hands the investigator a complete picture to judge. The decision stays with the human. The hours of searching do not.
“Financial crime does not sit neatly in one database. It sits in offshore structures, nominee directors and relationships that only appear when you connect the dots across borders. That is exactly what agentic AI is good at, and it is why we built this for the teams carrying the heaviest caseloads.”
It supports AML escalations, enhanced due diligence, fraud and money mule investigations and sanctions evasion reviews, and connects with RiskWatch so subjects move into continuous monitoring once a case closes. Institutions can deploy it in a sovereign cloud or fully on premise, keeping customer data and investigative findings inside their own environment.
Agentic Investigator is available to financial institutions from today. Demos can be requested at aintel.com.
