One counterparty, one master agreement and a short confirmation per deal: SourceX explains how its AI data licensing business model works for the companies that supply the data.
SourceX, an AI data licensing company, has introduced its business model for helping companies license their business data directly for AI training and evaluation. Under the model, companies work with SourceX as their sole counterparty, while the company manages licensing agreements, data preparation, and supplier payments on behalf of participating businesses.
The model rests on one design choice: suppliers sign with SourceX, not with an AI lab. A founder or operator deals with a single counterparty that handles the agreement, the data preparation, and the payout, instead of negotiating with buyers they have never met.
“Founders don’t have time to negotiate with every AI developer one by one, and they shouldn’t have to,” said Noah Loul, founder and CEO of SourceX. “You sign with us. We carry the contract, the preparation and the payment, so the company that did the work gets a clean deal and gets back to running its business.”
The Contract Stack
A qualified supplier signs one Master Supplier Licensing Agreement. Every deal after that runs on a short Dataset Deal Confirmation, which fixes the exact dataset, the net payout, and the terms. Terms are locked per deal, so each dataset is agreed on its own.
The rights granted can include exclusive AI-training rights for a term set in the Confirmation, plus lasting rights over the prepared, de-identified dataset. The original records stay with the supplier, and a company can back out at any point before it signs, at no cost.

How the Money Moves
After delivery, SourceX reviews the data for up to 30 days and may accept it sooner. At Closing, the supplier receives a Closing Notice and invoices SourceX, with standard payment within 60 calendar days of a valid invoice unless the signed terms say otherwise.
Who the Model is Built For
The strongest fit is a knowledge-work company with 50 or more full-time employees at peak, not counting contractors. Operating, acquired, and wound-down businesses can all qualify, subject to a rights review confirming the company owns its records and can license them. Not every company qualifies, which is why the process opens with a few quick questions, no uploads, and no commitment.
Founders and operators can see whether their company fits at SourceX.
