ShopX 2026 Brings E-Commerce Leaders Together to Address the Shift to Agentic Commerce

Hà Nội, Việt Nam, October 9th, 2026, FinanceWire

On September 17, 2026, GemPages convened more than 300 e-commerce leaders, Shopify partners, and technology experts at ShopX 2026, held at the New World Saigon Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City. Jointly organized by GemPages, ShopOS, Pengu Studio, and EFE Network, the event focused on the changes AI agents are bringing to product discovery, marketing, sales, and e-commerce operations.

ShopX 2026 brought together participants from across the Shopify and e-commerce community to discuss how businesses can respond as shoppers increasingly use AI-driven recommendations to find and compare products. The program combined industry discussions, practical sessions, an AI Buildathon, AI Mentor Tables, and opportunities to connect with technology and service providers. The event also provided a forum for collaboration across the Asia-Pacific Shopify ecosystem and for businesses to review tools, services, and operating models relevant to online retail.

AI Agents Move Closer to the Point of Purchase

Shopify data reported by PYMNTS shows that AI-referred traffic to Shopify stores grew to 8 times its level a year earlier in the first quarter of 2026. Orders originating from AI-assisted searches grew nearly 13-fold during the same period.

These figures provided context for the event’s Agentic Commerce discussions. As AI becomes part of the shopping journey, merchants need product information that allows systems to identify, compare, and present their products. The conversation at ShopX covered the role of structured product information, including specifications, materials, dimensions, compatibility, and delivery details, in helping AI agents respond to customer requests.

5 Sessions Covered Key E-Commerce Priorities

ShopX 2026 featured 5 sessions covering practical issues for online retailers.

BFCM Playbook addressed advertising budget optimization, offer creation, and sales planning for the Black Friday and Cyber Monday peak season. Many valuable sharings outlined structured approaches to demand forecasting, translating multi-year seasonal retail data into risk-mitigated peak-season playbooks

Agentic Commerce examined how AI agents search for products, compare specifications, evaluate alternatives, and complete transactions within chat interfaces. The session also introduced GemPages MCP , the technology that connects AI agents with online storefronts and turns natural language prompts and images into structured sales pages that can respond to automated requests

AI & Funnel Marketing covered the use of AI in customer acquisition, landing page personalization, conversion improvement, and customer retention across the shopping funnel.

Inside China Commerce explored operating models, high-speed supply chains, and data-driven commerce strategies in the world’s largest e-commerce market.

AI-powered POD focused on the use of AI in trend research, design creation, production, and fulfillment for print-on-demand businesses.

The sessions included contributions from e-commerce professionals Alex Fedotoff, Adam Pearce, and Xavier Lee, alongside OpenAI Ambassador Son Le and Shopify representative Namra Deka. Their participation brought perspectives from e-commerce operations, artificial intelligence, and the Shopify platform into the program.

From Discussion to Practical Work

The event was organized around 3 pillars: Learn, Build, and Connect. The AI Buildathon challenged teams to work on advertising content production, customer service automation, customer retention, and personalized offers.

AI Mentor Tables gave attendees opportunities for focused, one-on-one conversations with industry experts. Participants could discuss their businesses, ask questions about implementation, and explore how AI relates to their marketing, storefront, and operating processes. The format complemented the larger sessions by giving attendees a direct way to discuss questions that apply to their own businesses.

Sponsors and Partners Across E-commerce

ShopX 2026 brought together more than 20 sponsors and partners, including 3 Title Sponsors. Their services and products covered different parts of the e-commerce process.

Together, these sponsors and partners represented capabilities across the selling process, from reaching customers and helping them choose products to customizing, supplying, and fulfilling orders. Their participation gave attendees the opportunity to learn about services, products, and potential partnerships relevant to their e-commerce operations. The sponsor and partner program therefore connected the event’s discussions with companies working across advertising, storefront experience, product offers, supply chain, and fulfillment.

By bringing merchants, Shopify partners, technology experts, sponsors, and service providers together, ShopX 2026 created a forum for discussing the next operational questions facing online retail: how customers will discover products, how businesses will present product information, and how technology and service partners can support the path from marketing to fulfillment.
